Important industry update: The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) have successfully reached a tentative agreement on a new six-year Master Contract, avoiding the potential work stoppage that was scheduled for January 15, 2025. This is a significant step forward for the industry, ensuring stability for East and Gulf Coast ports and the broader supply chain.

In a joint statement, the ILA and USMX shared, ‘This agreement protects current ILA jobs and establishes a framework for implementing technologies that will create more jobs while modernizing East and Gulf Coast ports – making them safer and more efficient, and creating the capacity they need to keep our supply chains strong.’
